It is about an old bookseller named Joe Barber that resides in a small town while doing his best to help out a couple of less fortunate young adults.

During this course, he is confronted with what he sees as hypocrisy within a local church as well as fighting the corruption of city hall. It incorporates a mixture of humor as well as sorrow, successes along with tragedy while Joe must face the reality of his own mortality and the fragility of life. Though it is a short novel, I feel it has covered an array of characters that I have strove to convey in realistic terms in the hope of showing how diverse we truly are.
